False Teachers' Denial of Christ

Peter warns that false teachers will come into the church. He does not suggest that there might be a false teacher in a church. He asserts with certainty that false teachers will come into the church. False teacher will come in secretly, covertly, meaning we will not immediately recognize them. These false teachers may appear to be true Christians, even devote Christians who can be trusted or even followed. These teachers deny Christ and his work. They accomplish this stealthily all the while maintaining their guise as devote Christians who have the best interest of the church at heart. Therefore, how do we recognize them? If they look and act like Christians, how do we tell them apart from actual Christians. Charlie Nason gives a description of their method of deceit and a practical guide for identifying and combating false teaching in your local church. The sermon is based on 2 Peter 2:1 and refers to Genesis 3:1 -4.
