Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 1 - 4 lays out what an effective church does and does not do. This still applies to churches today. In chapter 1 verses 10 - 17, Paul has one point and that one point is the priority for an effective church. The point is to proclaim the gospel of the cross of Christ in unity of mind and judgment. This one point is the priority over any other ministry of the church. This point and priority is good for non-believers, new believers, or even mature believers.
