This sermon begins a series in 1 Corinthians. The city of Corinth was much like the San Francisco Bay Area. It was a metropolis where people came to so they could gain status and climb the social ladder. There were competing philosophies compelling the listeners through rhetorical means. There was illicit sex and idol worship and so much more. This letter than is a letter Paul could have written directly to the church in this San Francisco Bay area.
